The heartland turned out in true midwest fashion last night to honor a fallen soldier that called the area home. Sergeant Brandon Maggart, formerly of Kirskville, was killed in action in Iraq on August 22. He was laid to rest last night, September 1, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville Missouri.
In a show of support of the life lived, loved and lost, the citizens of Adair and Macon counties turned out to show their support by lining the funeral procession route, somewhere close to 60 miles, with their families holding tribute signs and Old Glory.
Thank you Sgt Maggart for your love and devotion to our country and for the ultimate sacrifice that you gave. You will not be forgotten. And thank you to all of the service men and women through the years that have served our country and may have even given their life defending our freedoms.
Here are some videos of the event.

Approach of the Patriot Guard. I would say (based on this video and one I watched elsewhere) that there were easily 200 (or more) motorcycles in attendance. I love the rumble you can hear.
